What did you do this past week?

This past week, my group and I started fleshing out our idea for our website, and we’ve recently started creating static web pages and and API using Postman. I initially was confused about where to start, but I think we all have a better understanding of what needs to be done, so I think that we’ll make a lot of progress in the next couple of days for this phase of the project.

What’s in your way?

Right now, what’s in my way is creating static pages for the website. One of my other group members and I have started creating those pages, but there’s still a good amount of pages that need to be created. Creating the pages shouldn’t be too hard, but those pages are a pretty important part in this step because you can’t really have a website without some web pages, right? I also need to be mindful of other assignments in my other classes.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will continue to work on the static web pages for my group’s website. Once we get those done, then we can put those pages in AWS, and make the website live. I also need to make sure that my group adds users stories to out developer, creates a URL for the website, and writes up a technical report for our progress. I’m honestly confused about what needs to go on that, but I’m sure we’ll figure it out.

What was your experience of types, object models, and iterators?

I think I understand types on Python. I don’t think types are that difficult to understand in any language. Because of my understanding of objects in Java, and the similarity of objects between Java and Python, grasping objects in Python wasn’t too difficult either. On the other hand, I didn’t use iterators too often in Java, so understanding iterators in Python was a little more difficult. I feel like iterators are a little more difficult to use in Python.

What made you happy this week?

Something that made me happy this week was getting the opportunity to practice soccer again. I practiced by myself, but it was enjoyable since I hadn’t kicked a ball since March.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is to spend some time not looking at any screens (like computer/TV/phone screens).
