What did you do this past week?

This past week, I didn’t do a whole lot. Since the next assignment for this class hadn’t been released yet, there was no real work to be done. I have an assignment to do for another class, but, admittedly, I haven’t started working on it, yet, so I should probably get started on that as soon as possible. I also completed a data mining assignment with a partner, so I at least accomplished that.

What’s in your way?

Nothing is in my way for now. I just need to make sure that I stay on top of my assignments for all of my classes moving forward.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will get started on my coding assignment for my other class. I will also start working on my next data mining assignment with my partner. As for this class, I guess my group and I will work on IDB1 proposal. This first part of this project doesn’t seem too hard, but I think the hardest part will be coming up with an idea and getting organized.

What was your experience of exceptions, IDB1, and types?

After the lectures this week, I think I have a firm grasp of exceptions and how they work. Exceptions are something I haven’t used too often in my code, but I definitely see why they’re so useful. I have a better grasp of when they would be appropriate to use in future coding projects. I’m excited to work on the group project for this class. I’m still not entirely clear on what needs to be done for IDB1, but I’ll make sure I understand what needs to be done by next week. We didn’t get too much into types this week, but I think I understand them so far. Types seems a little more abstract in Python than they do in Java, though.

What made you happy this week?

What made me happy this week was being able to see my cousin who I haven’t seen in more than 3 years. Although she couldn’t stay for that long, it was still really nice getting to see her.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is starting your assignments early. It will save you from needless stress, and you’ll feel good having one less thing to worry about.
